In short
- Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) are strictly prohibited on our service.
- The service is only for adults aged 18 or over. Every member who wants to connect with others must pass an identity check with a government photo ID.
- Anyone can report a profile, photo or message in the app, or write to our child safety contact. A person on our team reads every report.
- We remove such content at once, ban the accounts involved, keep the evidence the law requires, and report it to the police and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
01Who these standards apply to
These standards apply to everyone who uses Tuluna Bari: members, the family members who help them, and our own staff. They cover the Android app (Tuluna Bari Matrimony, published on Google Play by Halovane Studio), the website, and every profile, photo, document, message and report on the service. Halovane Studio is the trading name of Halovane Studios, Monis Complex, Main Road, Shankerpura Post, Udupi TQ, Karnataka.
02What is prohibited
Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind is strictly prohibited. That includes, and is not limited to:
- creating, uploading, sharing, requesting or linking to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including drawn, edited or computer-generated images of minors;
- grooming: contacting or befriending a minor, or someone you believe to be a minor, with the aim of sexual contact or exploitation;
- sexualising minors in any way, in words, images or profile details;
- sextortion: threatening to share intimate images of a minor, or demanding images, money or contact from them;
- trafficking, selling or arranging the marriage of a minor, or any offer of a child for sexual purposes;
- creating a profile for, or on behalf of, anyone under 18, including by a parent or relative;
- helping, encouraging or hiding any of the above.
Child marriage is illegal in India under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006: a woman must be at least 18 and a man at least 21 to marry. The service must never be used to arrange or seek the marriage of anyone younger.
03How we keep minors off the service
- Everyone must be 18 or over to hold an account, and must give a date of birth when they join.
- Members cannot send or receive interest or messages until they pass an identity check with a government photo ID. A date of birth on the ID that shows someone under 18, or that does not match, pauses the account at once for a person on our team to review.
- Every photo is reviewed by a person before other members can see it.
- Members can share photos and documents in a conversation only after both sides have agreed to connect.
04How to report
- In the app or on the website: open the profile or the conversation, choose Report, and pick the reason that fits, such as Under age. You can include the messages you are worried about. You can also block the member at the same time.
- By email: write to our child safety contact at [email protected] with "Child safety" in the subject. Include the member code or a link to the profile if you have it. Please do not attach or forward the images themselves.
- If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 112 first. In India you can also call Childline on 1098, and report online at the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
05What we do when something is reported
- A person on our team reads every report. Reports about the safety of a child are handled first, ahead of all other work.
- We remove the content and suspend the accounts involved at once while we look into it, and permanently ban anyone who breaks these standards. They are not allowed back.
- We keep the evidence securely, only for as long as the law requires and only for the authorities, and nobody else sees it.
- We report child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the police and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 require, and we cooperate with law enforcement in India and elsewhere.
06The law we follow
We comply with all applicable child safety laws, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, section 67B of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, and the laws of the other countries where our members live.
