Terms of use

Tuluna Bari is operated by Halovane Studios, Monis Complex, Main Road, Shankerpura Post, Udupi TQ, Karnataka ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms, our privacy notice, cookie policy and refund policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Tuluna Bari helps people of Tuluva background, and their families, find a life partner. We review profiles and photos, offer suggestions and search, and let two people talk once both have shown interest.

We are not a marriage bureau or an agent, we do not arrange marriages, and we do not guarantee a match. A reviewed profile or a verification badge tells you what we checked; it does not confirm everything a member says, their intentions or their character.

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
• You must be seeking marriage and be legally free to marry under the law that applies to you, or be on your way to being so, and say so honestly on your profile.
• Each person may have one account. A parent or relative may help, but the profile must be for a real person who knows about it and agrees to it.
• You may not join if we have previously removed your account, unless we agree in writing.

• Keep your details accurate and up to date, including your date of birth, which must match your identity documents.
• Keep access to your email address, passkeys and authenticator secure, and do not share your account.
• You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

• Everything on your profile must be true and about you. Photos must be recent, of you, and clearly show your face.
• Do not include contact details, social media handles or links in your profile text or photos.
• We review profiles and photos before they are shown, and may decline, edit the visibility of, or remove anything that breaks these terms.
• You own what you post. You give us a limited licence to store, process, re-encode, watermark and show it to the audiences you choose, only to run the service, until you delete it.

Identity checks are carried out by our verification partner, Didit. You upload your document and selfie to Didit directly; we never store them, and we receive only the result. If the date of birth on your document does not match your account, we pause your account and review it, and we may ask you to confirm your details. A badge means the check passed at that time.

You must not:

• ask any member for money, gifts, loans, investments, bank or UPI details, for any reason;
• demand, offer or discuss dowry, which is an offence under the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961;
• harass, threaten, stalk, shame or abuse anyone, or send sexual content;
• post hateful content about caste, community, religion, gender or anyone’s background;
• create a false or misleading profile, pretend to be someone else, or hide an existing marriage;
• contact members for business, as a marriage agent, or to promote anything;
• copy, screenshot, download, record or share other members’ profiles, photos, messages or details outside the service;
• contact someone again through other means after they have blocked you or declined your interest;
• use bots, scrapers or automated tools, probe or disrupt the service, or get around its security or limits;
• upload malware, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights or breaks Indian law.

What you see about other members is shared with you only to help you find a partner. Keep it private. Photos of other members carry your member code, and screenshot attempts may be recorded, so misuse can be traced to the account responsible.

• Some features, such as discovery, sending interest and messaging, need an active membership. Packages, prices and durations are shown in the app in Indian Rupees, including applicable taxes.
• Pay only to the UPI ID shown in the app for your payment. We are not responsible for money paid to anyone else, and our team will never ask you to pay a person or another account.
• Your membership starts when we confirm your payment, and ends at the end of the period. It never renews automatically.
• Coupons and extra days have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
• Refunds follow our refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

You are responsible for your conversations and meetings with other members. We do not run background checks beyond what is described on our safety page. Take the time you need, involve your family, meet in public, and report anything that worries you.

Reports are read by a person. If you break these terms we may warn you, hide your profile, pause or suspend your account, or remove it, depending on how serious it is. Where it is safe and lawful we tell you why. You can ask us to look again by writing to the grievance officer.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, Privacy. After a 1-day grace period your information is erased permanently and cannot be restored. Any unused membership time ends with the account and is not refunded, except as the refund policy says.

The Tuluna Bari name, logo, designs, software and content, other than what members post, belong to us or our licensors. You may use the service for your own personal search for a partner, and for nothing else.

We work to keep the service available, but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change or remove features. If a change significantly reduces what a paid membership includes, we will tell you before it happens.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that you will find a partner, or about the accuracy of what members say about themselves, and we are not responsible for how members behave, online or offline.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claims in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of opportunity, reputation or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including for fraud.

You agree to compensate us for claims and losses that arise because you broke these terms or the law, or because of content you posted.

Neither of us is responsible for failing to do something because of events beyond reasonable control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, war, government action or failures of networks and power.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Udupi, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under consumer protection law.

In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, our Grievance Officer can be reached at [email protected] or Halovane Studios (Tuluna Bari), Monis Complex, Main Road, Shankerpura Post, Udupi TQ, Karnataka.

We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days. Complaints about content that impersonates someone or shows a person in an intimate or sexual way are acted on within 24 hours.

When these terms change, the date and version at the top change too. We will tell you about important changes in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.

If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right straight away does not mean we give it up. You may not transfer your account or these terms; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business. These terms, with the policies they mention, are the whole agreement between us about the service.
